I wanted to say something about “Monday,” and men should read this, perhaps to better understand women, haha. “Monday” is also one of the topics at our Andalusian retreat center, which doesn't have a name yet. Kundalini yoga (taught daily by my wife Klaudia Haczkiewicz) is also one of the exercises we will be teaching, along with energy work (and much more) that you can apply yourself after the retreat. The retreat will therefore start on a Monday.
The word “Monday” comes from an ancient tradition in which days were named after celestial bodies.
Historical origin
• In Latin, Monday was called dies Lunae (day of the moon).
You can see the same origin in other languages:
• Dutch: Maandag
• German: Montag
• French: lundi
• Spanish: lunes
All of them refer to the moon.
In the Kundalini yoga tradition, much attention is paid to the unique energies and cycles of women, and Monday has a special meaning in relation to feminine energy. In the context of Kundalini yoga, it is explained as follows:
1. Monday and the Moon Energy
• In Kundalini yoga, the moon energy is strongly associated with the feminine. The moon symbolizes intuition, emotions, and inner reflection.
• In Kundalini yoga, women are often seen as strongly connected to the moon because of their cyclical nature (like the lunar cycle). The rhythm of the moon reflects the inner cycles of women.
2. Intuition and Refinement
• On Mondays, it is recommended to engage in activities that strengthen intuition, creativity, and inner balance. These are qualities that are seen as inherent to the feminine.
• In Kundalini yoga, specific meditations and kriyas are recommended that work with the moon's energy, such as meditations for calmness and introspection.
3. Self-Care and Reflection
• Monday is sometimes considered a day of self-care, especially for women. It is a good time to slow down and pay attention to your inner life, emotions, and intentions.
• In Kundalini yoga, it is often recommended to use this day for healing and emotional processing, which helps women stay in harmony with their natural cycles.
4. Kundalini Practices for Women on Monday
• Meditation on the energy of the moon: For example, the Chandra Kriya meditation or breathing techniques (pranayama) aimed at calming.
• Sat Nam Rasayan: A healing meditation that helps restore energetic balance.
• Mantras: Such as Adi Shakti or Wahe Guru, which strengthen the feminine and intuitive aspects.
5. Cyclical Nature of Women
• Kundalini teachings also point to the 11 moon centers in a woman's body. These centers change every 2.5 days and influence how she feels and reacts. Monday can be a day to pay extra attention to the active moon centers.
In summary: in Kundalini yoga, Monday is seen as a day that resonates with feminine energies and intuition, and it is often recommended to do activities that bring you into harmony with these qualities. Do you have specific questions about certain exercises or themes? Let me know...
