The sparrow as a mirror for you

In Spanish, it is called gorrion: the house sparrow. A small, common bird that is surprisingly similar to us. Sparrows do not like to be alone. They seek each other out, live in flocks and are anything but shy. Yet the sparrow never allows itself to be completely tamed. No matter how close it lives to humans, it does not give up its freedom. It goes its own way, curious and alert, with those little black beady eyes that notice everything.

 

Perhaps you recognise yourself in this.

Always “on”. Seeing a lot, feeling a lot, picking up a lot. Sometimes so much that it overwhelms you. A sparrow's heart in a world full of stimuli. And at the same time, you possess something that the sparrow may be even better at than we are: just being yourself.

Flying when it's time. Staying close when it feels right. Allowing for variation. Following your own path, even if it's different from that of the group. That's exactly what we want to invite you to do here. In our retreat, you will learn to listen to your natural rhythm again. To be free without flying away. Part of a safe flock, but still completely yourself.
