The sparrow as a mirror for you
In Spanish, it is called gorrion: the house sparrow. A small, common bird that is surprisingly similar to us. Sparrows do not like to be alone. They seek each other out, live in flocks and are anything but shy. Yet the sparrow never allows itself to be completely tamed. No matter how close it lives to humans, it does not give up its freedom. It goes its own way, curious and alert, with those little black beady eyes that notice everything.
Perhaps you recognise yourself in this.
Always “on”. Seeing a lot, feeling a lot, picking up a lot. Sometimes so much that it overwhelms you. A sparrow's heart in a world full of stimuli. And at the same time, you possess something that the sparrow may be even better at than we are: just being yourself.

Flying when it's time. Staying close when it feels right. Allowing for variation. Following your own path, even if it's different from that of the group. That's exactly what we want to invite you to do here. In our retreat, you will learn to listen to your natural rhythm again. To be free without flying away. Part of a safe flock, but still completely yourself.

Casita Gorrion:
​
A place of silence, currently undergoing renovation. There will be two yurts with sleeping accommodations and a larger yurt for meditation, yoga, workshops, and lectures on manifestation, how the body works, self-healing, and many other interesting topics. It is located on the grounds of Cortijo Gorrion, among olive and almond trees, completely secluded with a view of La Maroma mountain.
There will be an outdoor shower, lounge chairs, a covered terrace, and an open barbecue. Inside there is a shower, toilet, bidet, kitchenette, and refrigerator.
There will be no Wi-Fi, only downstairs on the breakfast terrace of the Cortijo.​
In June 2025, the site was cleaned up and is being prepared for use around April/Mai 2026.
Reception
The terrace has since been renovated and offers breathtaking views of the valley, Las Valverdes. Yes, we are located on a mountain, completely private.

This is where we welcome our guests before the retreat begins. Here you can relax after your journey, settle in and take everything in. All the details of the retreat will be discussed, and you will be shown how everything works.
